Are you unsure if your new wheels will fit your ATV, SXS, or UTV? Knowing the main bolt patterns for each vehicle is the most important step.
There are only a few bolt patterns to remember for UTVs and ATVs, unlike cars. Knowing your vehicle’s bolt pattern helps when you need a spare, replacement parts, or emergency help. Before we list the patterns, let’s see why they matter and what makes each one different.
Your vehicle's bolt pattern is one of the first things to check when choosing wheels. The bolt pattern is the number and spacing of the lug holes, which must match the hub’s studs or bolts.
Imagine a circle that passes through each stud or bolt hole. The bolt pattern includes the number of holes and the diameter of this circle, measured in inches or millimeters. For a 4-lug wheel, measure from the center of one hole to the center of the other. Odd-numbered patterns, like the five-bolt Polaris RZR Pro R, use a different method.
Most Common
Polaris: Polaris is split between its 4-lug and 5-lug platforms.
The RZR XP 1000, RZR Turbo S, RZR Trail, Ranger 570, Ranger 1000, Ranger XD 1500, General 1000, and Sportsman ATV all utilize a 4x156 bolt pattern.
The Polaris RZR Pro S, RZR Pro R, Xpedition, and Ranger XD1500 utilize a 5x114.3 (5x4.5) bolt pattern.
Can-Am: Most modern and full-sized Can-Am ATVs and UTVs (Maverick X3, Defender, and Commander) utilize a 4x137 bolt pattern, with the exception of the Can-Am Maverick R, which utilizes a 6x139.7 bolt pattern.
Honda: All non-sport ATVs and UTVs are 4x110, except the Pioneer 1000 and Talon, which are 4x137.
Kawasaki: ATVs with a Solid Rear Axle (SRA) use a 4x137 bolt pattern. The KRX 1000 uses a 4x156 bolt pattern. ATVs with Independent Rear Suspension use a 4x110 bolt pattern. Mule and Teryx use a 4x137 bolt pattern with a 12mm stud. Mule PRO-FXTs use a 4x156 bolt pattern.
CFMOTO: U10 Pro, U10 Pro XL, Z10, Z10-4 use a 5x114.3 bolt pattern
Segway: Villain uses a 4x110 bolt pattern. Supervillain uses a 5x114.3 bolt pattern.
Yamaha: All non-sport and modern ATVs & UTVs use a 4x110 bolt pattern, except for the 2019+ YXZ, which uses a 4x156 bolt pattern.
How to Measure
To measure even bolt patterns like 4-lug or 6-lug, go from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across. For odd patterns like 5-lug, measure from the top of one bolt hole to the center of the hole across from it.

Two of the most common bolt patterns are 4x156, which means four lugs spaced 156mm apart, and 4x137, which means four lugs spaced 137mm apart.
Note: You may see the bolt pattern shown in several different ways. If you see Pitch Circle Diameter (PCD) or Bolt Circle, it simply references your bolt pattern above.
